No tedious creation of content, no time-consuming organization of classroom training: With Carano’s digital driver instruction according to UVV, drivers are instructed quickly and safely. Drivers automatically receive an invitation to the e-learning course via email and can complete it in the office, at home or on the road. All results are subsequently stored in a traceable manner. In this way, you minimize the risk of accidents and comply with your statutory keeper liability obligations.
The contents of the e-learning course are regularly updated in accordance with legal requirements and are ready for immediate retrieval
Digital driver training relieves you of the time-consuming coordination of appointments, as all drivers receive an automatic invitation by e-mail
All instructions and test results are stored in the system in a traceable manner so that you have proof in the event of a claim.
Driver instruction in accordance with UVV (accident prevention regulations) is a legal obligation for employers under DGUV Regulation 70, which states that companies that provide their employees with company vehicles must instruct their drivers in the safe use of company cars once a year.
1
The driver data can be created both manually and by import. The system automatically generates an appointment for the UVV driver training and sends the invitation by e-mail.
2
The driver is trained in five chapters in the correct handling of service vehicles and in how to behave in dangerous situations. Finally, there is a test in which the level of knowledge is checked.
3
After successful participation, the legally compliant filing in the system takes place. The result can be viewed by the fleet manager at any time. The driver receives a certificate of passing the test by e-mail.
4
The fleet manager can always view the status of all inspections. When overdue, drivers and fleet managers receive an automatic email reminder.
Our software solutions can be ideally combined as a complete package for your fleet. In addition to driver instruction, regular driver's license checks are also part of your keeper liability duties. If you have pool vehicles in your fleet, driver instruction in accordance with UVV is particularly easy to integrate into our car sharing software. Whether in the office, at home, or on the road, drivers automatically receive an invitation to digital driver instruction and can complete it at any time within a specified time window without prior registration. The invitation email contains a link that takes employees directly to the e-learning course. Allocating your own time to complete the training not only provides a lot of flexibility, but also has a positive impact on the success of the training. You don’t have to invest any time in preparing the content, because it is immediately available and always up to date.
The course content of digital driver instruction is designed to train drivers in the safe use of company vehicles and how to behave in the event of an accident. The contents are derived from DGUV Regulation 70 and take into account, among other things, load securing, traffic regulations and the safety equipment of the vehicle. Correct driving behavior, for example in special road and weather conditions or during overtaking maneuvers, is also part of the training content of the instruction. And the specifics of e-vehicles and the charging process are also part of the e-learning course.
Regular driver training in accordance with UVV is required by law and is one of the central owner liability obligations in the fleet. The legal basis for instruction is provided by the German Occupational Health and Safety Act (ArbSchG), the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV) and the regulations of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV). The latter issues the so-called accident prevention regulations (UVV) to reduce the risk of accidents to a minimum. Whether it’s a company car or a pool vehicle, companies must not only provide their employees with safe company vehicles as work equipment, but also train them in their safe use at least once a year, according to DGUV Regulation 70. If the vehicle is replaced during the year, additional training is required. Fleet managers who comply with this obligation only irregularly or not at all risk incurring severe penalties.
Through the UVV driver training with Carano, we have found a way to ensure with minimal effort that all company car users can participate in the annual training. Our drivers are automatically prompted and it is only when they have overdue appointments that I am notified and can intervene if necessary. This saves time and nerves.

Yes, the learning content of Carano’s e-learning course also deals with the specifics of e-vehicles. These include, for example, safe use in road traffic, the correct charging process, what to do in the event of a breakdown or accident, and the sources of danger posed by an e-vehicle.
Failure to provide driver instruction annually or at all can result in serious penalties in the event of a claim. Regardless of the severity of the accident or the resulting injury, this can result in a fine of up to 10,000 euros. In addition, in the event of an accident or claim, insurance benefits may be denied if it can be shown that driver instruction was not properly provided. If the employer has delegated the duty to carry out driver instruction to a person who is not suitable for this purpose, the employer faces a fine of up to one million euros.
If a driver has not attended the UVV driver training appointment, all dispatchers will receive a notification 24 hours after the deadline.
Driver instruction via e-learning course complies with legal requirements and training content is automatically updated. All test results are also stored in a traceable and audit-proof manner.
Generally, it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that all employees who use company vehicles are properly instructed. As a rule, this duty is delegated to the fleet manager. The transfer of keeper liability and its scope should be set forth in a written contract or agreement. For a delegation to be legally effective, it must be a competent person who has specialist knowledge.
